CALHOUN, Ga. — In the final round of the first ever “Calhoun’s Got Talent” production, Tiffany Trammell mesmerized the audience with her performance of “His Eye Is On the Sparrow” and took the $500 grand prize.
Beverly Forster, chairwoman of the “Calhoun’s Got Talent” committee, and Alan Rabon, program director for the Harris Arts Center where the competition took place, presented Mrs. Trammell with the award recently.
The talent show earlier this month was designed to raise money for the Harris Arts Center in Calhoun. Mrs. Trammell’s performance capped the third and final round.
The 10 contestants entertained the crowd with singing, dancing, and impersonations. The overflow audience viewed the performances on a big screen in the arts center’s community room.
Voting took place during an intermission and then prizes were awarded.
Mrs. Trammell lives in Calhoun with her husband and three daughters. She directs the choir at the Friendship Baptist Church where she also sings on the praise team.
Ms. Forster credited strong committee support for the show’s success.
“Without their solid support and continued innovations, we wouldn’t have made it,” Ms. Forster said. “I’m so grateful for their devotion (and) I look forward to next year’s event.”

Sondra Hanna directed “Calhoun’s Got Talent and said she enjoyed the experience and the performers.
“To work with this group of amateurs who treated each other with respect and who had such outstanding talents was absolutely joyful and made my job easy.” Ms. Hanna said. “They all accepted direction so well, which gave us all a production to be proud of.”
