Music departments at Bryan College and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga will honor the 200th anniversary of the birth of Frederic Chopin with “Chopin Celebration” concerts tonight in Dayton, Tenn., and Saturday in Chattanooga.

Tonight, outstanding pianists from the two schools will perform four scherzos and four ballades in Bryan’s Rudd Auditorium, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The entire program will be repeated at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in UTC’s Fine Arts Center, corner of Vine and Palmetto streets.

Both concerts are free.

Performing the scherzos will be Bryan students Jarod Soltis, Natalie McGehee and Kimberly McKennett along with Bryan alumnus Jason DuRoy, who received his master’s degree in music from UTC.

UTC students Priska Sentana, Alex Ridder, Yeaji Lee and Johan Sentana will perform the ballades.
