The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team is coming off its first winning season since 2005. The Mocs begin spring practice today with a lot more confidence than a year ago, but there still are questions that need to be answered:
1. Can UTC find a running game?
Once Bryan Fitzgerald was lost for the season, the Mocs had a hard time running the ball in 2009. They finished the season averaging just 85 yards per game, the second-lowest total in the Southern Conference.
Fitzgerald is recovering from foot surgery and will miss the spring drills, but the Mocs do get back Erroll Wynn, who redshirted last season. Also back are true freshman Chris Awuah, who led UTC with 459 yards last season, and redshirt freshman J.J. Jackson.
