Our Greater Chattanooga Area United Way does wonderful work in all kinds of economic conditions, helping many of our people who are down-and-out and up-and-coming.
But in the current economic recession, the United Way campaign this year has not yet met its goal to finance the services needed by our people through the United Way’s many member service agencies.
Generous givers have pledged $10.8 million. Thanks! Congratulations! But the United Way needs more pledges to meet its base goal of $11.1 million.
Christmas has had our attention recently. But with the whole new year ahead, generous people need to provide that “extra push” now to be sure our people in need will have the United Way’s helping hands throughout 2010.
