University of Tennessee athletics director Mike Hamilton met with the media Wednesday to discuss head football coach Lane Kiffin’s resignation.
“We’re going full blast,” Hamilton said in his early remarks. “I am very disappointed for our student athletes and our fans.”
Kiffin left Knoxville after one season to take the head coaching job at Southern California.
Hamilton said while he did not expect the move, he has always tried to be prepared for change. He added that is a “critical” time for the program, but added that he would rather, “be a day late” to make sure UT hired the right coach.
