HIXSON: Looking for another public art location

The Friends of Hixson were so successful in getting the first piece of public art erected at the intersection of Access Road and Hixson Pike, they are actively pursuing a second location. Civic leaders are working together to select a few sculptures from the 20 pieces located in the Chattanooga Sculpture Garden in the Tennessee Riverpark’s Riverwalk. The committee would like some input from the community on the second location. There has been conversation about locating a second sculpture to compliment the existing “Arise” at Hixson Pike and Access Road. Other prospective locations are at the roundabouts below Chickamauga Dam; at the intersection of Middle Valley Road and Hixson Pike, around Northgate Mall’s entrances or at the Greenway.
