A reminder to all citizens about the trash services: Please place trash cans facing the correct direction to the road and place cans at least three feet in any direction free from obstructions. All trash must be contained inside the cans with lids closed. Trash will not be picked up if trash is overflowing from the cans or set outside of the cans. An additional can may be needed for citizens with large trash volume, a decision made by the city’s sanitation supervisor. The resident must purchase an additional can at a cost $5 per month, paid for on the monthly water bill. Citizens may choose to take their excess trash to the transfer station, located on Yale Street, for a nominal fee. Cardboard can be separated from trash for recycle and picked up separately on Mondays and Wednesdays by appointment only. Call 892-8666 to schedule a pickup.
