The Southern Conference announced its fall academic all-conference team Tuesday and 25 University of Tennessee at Chattanooga athletes were on it, including 10 football players.
Also among the 316 athletes recognized were six UTC women’s soccer players, four volleyball players and three men’s cross-country runners.
To be eligible, an athlete must have participated in at least half of their team’s games during the fall and maintained at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA entering the fall season. Throughout the conference, only 10 athletes had 4.0 GPAs – among them were UTC cross-country runner David Moore and women’s soccer player Susanne Mader.
