The Etowah Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration will take place Saturday on the lawn of the L&N Depot downtown, 727 Tennessee Ave. A day of activities, music and food will precede an evening of fireworks.
“There’s a little bit of something here for everyone,” said Marilyn Miller of the Etowah Fourth of July Committee.
Event highlights include a Boy Scout pancake breakfast, a beauty pageant and pizza-eating contests. The Gem Players will perform morning and evening patriotic programs. The Beaters will headline the evening musical entertainment, performing before and after the fireworks show.
Other musical artists will perform in the afternoon, including Lukas Tallent Band, Ronnie Raper & Friends, Gillie Roberts, Amber Murphy &Tyler Munger, Eddie Cockrum, Commission and Summer Poteet.
Miller said between 5,000 and 10,000 people attend the celebration throughout the day. Local businesses provide support for the event, with Waupaca Foundry sponsoring the fireworks display.
