Power is back on to about 10,000 EPB customers after an outage of nearly an hour Saturday morning.
The outage struck about 9:45 a.m., affecting customers in the Hixson-Northgate, Bakewell-Sale Creek and Soddy-Daisy areas and Red Bank, according to EPB.
Utility spokeswoman Danna Bailey said at 10:40 a.m. that all power had been restored.
She said the outage was a result of an equipment failure in the Falling Water substation.
Workers routed around the failure to get the lights back on, she said, and are working to figure out what failed and how to fix it.
“It will take testing and investigation to find out what happened,” Ms. Bailey said.
