Two men involved in an armed robbery this morning at a Country Hearth Inn and Suites have been arrested, officials said.
Randall Rounsaville had been discussing a gun exchange with Ronald Hicks, 29, in one of the hotel rooms at 101 E. 20th Street. As they left the room at approximately 12:30 a.m., Larry Brown, 38, came up to Mr. Rounsaville and began to beat him on the head with a pistol.
Mr. Hicks then stole cash from Mr. Rounsaville’s pockets. Several witnesses at the hotel heard Mr. Rounsaville calling for help, but Mr. Brown pointed his gun at them as they approached, said Officer Rebecca Royval, public information officer for the Chattanooga Police Department, in a news release.
Mr. Brown fled the scene in a white Ford Mustang while Mr. Hicks fled on foot. Both suspects were apprehended by officers, the release stated.
Mr. Hicks was charged with one count of especially aggravated robbery, while Mr. Brown was charged with especially aggravated robbery and two counts of aggravated assault.
