Kenneth Gann, convicted earlier this year of strangling his wife, received a 20 year prison sentence today.
Convicted of second-degree murder in February, Mr. Gann, 25, killed his estranged wife Robyn Burns Gann, 25, in their Hixson home on March 2, 2008. He tried to kill himself after murdering his wife and confessed to the crime from his hospital bed less than 24 hours later.
According to Mr. Gann, his wife threatened to have him thrown in jail, said he would never see their 2-year-old son again and began choking him.
