Woman slashed in Kilpatrick home invasion

FORT PAYNE, Ala. – A man broke into a Kilpatrick woman’s home and cut her several times with a knife before she escaped, DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said in a news release.

The assault happened Monday and the sheriff’s office is asking the public to help identify the suspect.

The Hispanic woman called 911 at 8 p.m. CDT from her neighbor’s home on County Road 965, the release stated. She said the man was about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 160 pounds, with white hair and brown eyes. She said he had a gun and a knife when he forced his way into her home, and that he cut her several times.

After she escaped, he drove away in a white Ford F-150 pickup. She was treated and released at the Marshall Medical Center in Boaz, Ala.

Sheriff Harris said the man is thought to be local and that he should be considered dangerous.

“Citizens should be aware of this incident and take proper precautions to keep themselves and their families safe,” he said in the release.

He asked anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 256-845-3801.
