Police arrest 16-year-old in connection with morning shooting

Chattanooga police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with a double shooting this morning at 814 East 14th Street Court.

The youth has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault, according to a police release.

The incident occurred when the teen got into an argument over a woman with Robbie Bell, police said. He shot Mr. Bell, 31, and Gerald Houston, 51, when he “thought he was outnumbered,” according to police.

Police do not name juvenile suspects.

Mr. Bell was shot three times in the leg as he fled, and Mr. Houston was shot in the arm, police said.

Both men are expected to recover from their injuries, according to authorities.
