JACKSON, Tenn. – A preliminary autopsy report shows that a 3-year-old Madison County boy found unresponsive in a vehicle died of hyperthermia.
Madison County Sheriff David L. Woolfork said Monday that James Marcus Jeffries of Pinson had no signs of trauma to his body.
He was found Saturday about 4 p.m. in the vehicle at his home during a heat advisory for the area. Investigators said his mother was asleep inside the home at the time and her boyfriend was at a store.
No one has been arrested.
