The Rhea County Soil Conservation District will give away tree seedlings on Wednesday as it observes its annual Tree Day. Trees available this year include yellow poplar, red bud, pecan and bald cypress. The trees will be given away on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Rhea County Agricultural Complex across from Rhea County High School in Evensville. Distribution will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until trees are gone. The Soil Conservation District sponsors Tree Day each year to promote beautification and environmental improvements by encouraging tree planting.
