A man involved in a single-car crash on state Highway 153 late Friday has died of his injuries, according to Chattanooga police spokeswoman Officer Rebecca Royval.
The driver of the 1997 BMW, Phillip Anthony Jackson, 39, of Ringgold, Ga., died during surgery due to a liver laceration, she said.
The passenger, Roy Malone, 28, of Chattanooga, was in stable condition, Officer Royval said.
According to traffic investigators, alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
