MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – With its only consistent scorer watching from the bench for the final 1:42, Arts & Sciences held off Harriman 49-44 in the quarterfinals of the Class A state basketball tournament at Middle Tennessee State University on Wednesday.
Junior guard Alex Stallion fouled out with the Patriots holding a five-point advantage. At that point Stallion had scored 11 of the Patriots’ 15 second-half points.
But the Patriots’ defense never allowed Harriman to get closer, and CSAS advanced to face the winner between top-ranked Clarksville Academy and Wayne County. That semifinal game will be Friday at 11 a.m. (EDT).
