Local family seeks $30,000 prize for T.C. Thompson in video danceoff

If Chattanooga gets down with The T-Dog, T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital could win $30,000.

The Howard family of Hixson — of which 2-year-old Tristan, or T-Dog, is a member — is one of seven families who are finalists in a national Family Dance-off to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices.

The campaign, sponsored by Primrose Schools, encouraged families to send in their dance videos. Fans now can vote for their favorite — the Howard’s video is called “Tristan’s Debut” — at www.FamilyDanceOff.com through Friday.

The Howards have a special reason they want to win the contest for their favorite Children’s Miracle Network hospital, which is T.C. Thompson.

Tristan, as an enfant in 2008, began to develop chronic ear infections, his mother, Stephanie, said. Ear tubes and rounds of antibiotics were tried but failed to stop the problem. At one point, he was hospitalized and his sight threatened because of the persistent sinus problems.
