Three Brainerd High School students were charged today with carrying a dangerous weapon, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
About 1:30 p.m. the school resource officer at Brainerd High received a call about a suspicious vehicle parked across from the school on Larchmont Drive, sheriff’s spokeswoman Janice Atkinson said. The resource officer investigated and found three students, all absent without permission from school, in a white Pontiac Sunfire, Ms. Atkinson said.
Jermaine Mobley, 18, and two juveniles were charged with carrying a dangerous weapon when a .32 caliber handgun was located inside the car, Ms. Atkinson said.
Mr. Mobley was taken to the Hamilton County Jail, and the two juveniles were taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center, she said.
