President Barack Obama nominated three legal professionals Thursday to serve as U.S. attorneys, including one for Tennessee’s middle district, according to a White House news release.
Jerry E. Martin, who has been a partner at Barrett Johnston & Parsley in Nashville since 2007, was nominated for the Middle Tennessee post.
Melinda L. Haag, to serve the northern district of California, and James A. Lewis, to serve Illinois’ central district, also were nominated.
In a prepared statement, Mr. Obama said he was honored to nominate the three as U.S. attorneys.
“They will be unwavering in their commitment to justice, and I am confident they will serve the people of California, Tennessee and Illinois with excellence,” Mr. Obama said in the release.
