Strides of March

Chattanooga CARES, a regional resource for those affected by AIDS and HIV, will sponsor its 15th annual Strides of March on Sunday in Coolidge Park.

The 3.1-mile walk/run through downtown Chattanooga is designed to promote awareness of HIV throughout the Tennessee Valley. The event offers an opportunity for the community to come together in a celebration of hope and remembrances of friends and family who are affected by HIV/AIDS.

Individuals, churches and other community groups are encouraged to form teams and raise necessary funds for the clients and programs of Chattanooga CARES. Teams consist of five or more individuals.

Awards are given for the highest-producing church, community-based group and individual. A drawing will be held after the game to award a trip to Orlando, Fla. The winner receives round-trip airfare for two and a two-night stay at the Royal Plaza Hotel at Walt Disney Resort.

Registration begins at 1 p.m., and the walk kicks of at 2 p.m.
