Hamilton Place management announces a partnership with Soles4Souls, a national shoe charity organization.
Shoppers are asked to drop off their gently used shoes before buying new ones. A bin has been placed near the Easter Bunny’s photo station inside Hamilton Place near the Comcast Stage. The shoe collection will conclude on Earth Day, April 24. Shoppers who donate will receive select discounts from mall retailers.
An estimated 300 million pairs of shoes end up in U.S. landfills each year, which motivated the idea of recycling shoes for children who don’t have them. Soles4Souls has given away more than 7 million pairs of shoes.
