Aaron Henderson creates jazz-inspired narratives in his gouache-on-paper and oil-on-canvas paintings.
An exhibition of his work, titled “Harmonic Inspirations,” is on view at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center through May 21.
Mr. Henderson’s paintings are mostly figurative and representational, although a few border on abstraction. He describes himself as a narrative artist whose images depict his life experiences.
