City Councilman Andraé McGary has taken a job as host of Talk Radio 102.3's "Live and Local" program, which runs from 1-4 p.m. daily, Program Manager Bill Lockhart said today.
He takes over from former host Robert T. Nash, who was fired by Citadel Broadcasting a week ago.
Mr. McGary said he was contacted by Mr. Lockhart a few weeks ago with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
"Mama didn't raise no fool," he said. "You get an opportunity, you take it."
He starts today and will be on the air at 1 p.m.
