Zoe is one smart, and lucky, mutt. Three years ago, Jordan Stuermer pulled into the parking lot with some friends at the Canyon Grill restaurant on Lookout Mountain and Zoe was romping around the parking lot.
Stuermer said she wanted to take Zoe home, but was worried that her aunt, with whom she was living at the time, might not approve.
What happened the next day was proof that the relationship between master and dog was meant to be, she said.
"I went to class the next morning and there was a guy in my class who worked at Canyon Grill," she said. "He asked us if any of us wanted a dog."
Stuermer got permission from her aunt to bring Zoe home, and "she's been my little friend ever since," she said. "And she's so smart. I was raised with standard poodles, which are very smart dogs. Zoe's just as smart."
