Home invaded on Oak Street

Chattanooga police are looking for four men in connection with a Monday morning Oak Street home invasion.

Police spokeswoman Officer Rebecca Royval said Jermaine Varnell told police that the men kicked in the front door to his home at 2115 Oak St. about 6:15 a.m.

They ransacked the house, Royval said, adding Varnell was hit “several times on the head and face” by one of the attackers.

Varnell, 33, was treated for a laceration to his head at Parkridge Hospital’s emergency room following the incident and released, Royval said. The hospital is across the street from his home.

The men, who were wearing black ski masks, took Varnell’s car keys and stole his 2002 black Chevrolet Impala, police said. They also stole cash, televisions and a computer.

Varnell’s wife and two children were in the home at the time of the incident, Royval said.

The attackers drove a small red car to and from the home, police said. The unoccupied Impala was found Monday evening near M.L. King Boulevard, Royval said.
