The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera Youth Orchestras will present their fall concert at Brainerd Baptist Church on Monday.

The CSOYO Symphony, conducted by Gary Wilkes, and Philharmonic, conducted by Sandra Morris, will perform a variety of music. Selections include “Russian Sailors Dance” from the ballet “The Red Poppy,” “America the Beautiful,” music from movies “The Lord of the Rings” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” and a tribute to John Williams.

Also featured will be a performance by this year’s CSOYO Concerto Competition winner, John Burton, a sophomore at Walker Valley High School in Cleveland, Tenn. John is a member of the school band and is in his third season with the CSOYO.

His solo will be the first movement from the Trumpet Concerto by Johann Nepomuk Hummel, a protégé of Mozart who made an impressive reputation for himself in Vienna during the golden age of Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven.
