Smokey Bones' Crowd Pleaser lives up to its name

Smokey Bones, 2225 Gunbarrel Road, is known for its great hand-pulled pork, smoked chicken and tender beef brisket. But when customers are tuned in to the gridiron action on TVs stationed around the bar, appetizers are a popular option. One favorite is the Crowd Pleaser, named for its ample size and diverse flavors.

The platter is filled with Fire Stix (loaded fries with a twist), Flippin' Fingers (marinated chicken tenders) and Smoked Southwest Spring Rolls (crispy spring rolls filled with shredded chicken, black beans and Southwest spices).

The restaurant is running several drink and appetizer specials during football season.

"Larger-size appetizers, like the Crowd Pleaser, are perfect for sharing while watching the games," said Chad Caldwell, general manager.

For college games on Saturdays, pro games on Sundays and from 7 to close on Mondays, the Crowd Pleaser is $2 off the normal price, he said.
