The name of a company that Chattanooga and Hamilton County officials are courting could be released by next week, Mayor Ron Littlefield said today.
The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Chamber of Commerce came before the City Council today just before the start of its regularly scheduled committee meetings and requested a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement be placed on next week’s agenda.
Littlefield told council members that because of contractual agreements he could not disclose the name of the company. But he said he hoped to be able to provide those details by the council’s next meeting.
County officials have said they think it is an Internet-based business. Littlefield said the county would consider putting it on its agenda Wednesday.
