GOP attacks Davis’ fundraiser in Chattanooga

NASHVILLE – Republicans are attacking U.S. Rep. Lincoln Davis, D-Tenn., for a planned $250 per person fundraiser in Chattanooga.

The Oct. 14 event features “special guest” U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, whom they say is one of the most liberal members of the House.

“Rep. Wasserman Schultz is one the most radical liberals in Congress – and Lincoln Davis’ reliance on her fundraising help proves he’s one of the most shameless,” charged National Republican Campaign Committee Andy Seré in a news release. “On TV, Davis conveys an ‘independent conservative’ image and drives a bulldozer. But now it’s his own credibility that’s been bulldozed.”

Davis faces Republican Scott DesJarlais in the Nov. 2 election.

Seré said Wasserman Schultz is “a virulently partisan left-wing zealot whose values are downright hostile to Tennessee – even more so than Obama’s.”

The fundraiser is scheduled around the Hamilton County Democratic Party’s annual Estes Kefauver Dinner.
