An 8-year-old Hispanic boy was struck while crossing the street late Tuesday afternoon, said Sgt. Jerri Weary with the Chattanooga Police Department.
The boy is listed in critical condition at T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital, Weary said.
The accident happened around 6:20 p.m. at 1200 Gadd Road in Hixson, Weary said.
Two people were taken in for questioning, though police cannot say specifically what factors caused the accident until they have investigated further, Weary said.
The name of the child has not been released.
