Donald Trump obviously thinks big, as he has indicated in many of his economic projects. But is Trump planning to run for president of the United States in 2012, or is he just teasing?
Don’t discount Donald.
He picked a peculiar place to make a presidential hint last week. He was being awarded an honorary degree at a university in Edinburgh, Scotland, when he suggested we need a better president than Barack Obama – and he just might run himself.
“A lot of people have asked me to do it,” he said, “and until recently I would have no interest.”
Trump said Obama has been “having a very hard time.”
He continued: “The U.S. is a great country and it’s not doing as well as it should. It could be doing much better and I think, with proper leadership, it would do unbelievably well.”
That’s an understatement. But “Trump for president”?
We have had some great presidents and some mediocre ones, and some even worse.
But would the prospect of “Obama vs. Trump” thrill you or chill you?
What other choices are in prospect?
