Mom collects 250 pieces of amber glass for daughter’s wedding

Dozens of dahlias needed for the arrangements were purchased from Hixson grower Ray Phillips.

The variety of amber glassware the Austins found included compotes, hobnail bottles, candy dishes and vases.

Beth Austin spent nine months sourcing pieces of amber glass to create the reception table settings for the marriage of her daughter, Molly Austin, to Tremale Morgan. Joe Jumper of The Clay Pot made a cohesive look from the mismatched pieces by filling them with arrangements of locally grown dahlias. Stemmed water glasses lined each side of the head table, interspersed with sherbet glasses that each held a single floating blossom.

Dahlias in shades of fall colors centered linen table runners on 16 rectangular tables at the reception.

On the 14 circular tables, Joe Jumper placed one large dahlia arrangement encircled with amber glasses.
