Vampire Bash in Rome celebrates book releases

Best-selling young adult authors Rachel Caine and Heather Brewer will join forces for a Vampire Bash on Thursday in Rome, Ga., to mark the release of new books.

Caine’s Morganville Vampire series follows the adventures of Claire Danvers and her best friends Eve, Shane and Michael as they fight for their lives in the college town of Morganville, Texas. Humans and vampires co-exist there, though not always in peace. Her new book, “Ghost Town,” her first to be published in hardcover, was released this week.

Brewer is the author of fan-favorite series The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod. Her September release, “Twelfth Grade Kills,” has spent five weeks atop the New York Times bestsellers list. Inspired by Brewer’s own high school experiences, the series is a darkly humorous take on the daily perils of high school for an outsider who just happens to be a teenage vampire.

The authors will be at Barnes & Noble, 1442 Turner McCall Blvd., at 6 p.m. For more information, call 706-232-3202.
