Chattanooga police were notified of a stabbing at about 8 p.m. Wednesday when the victim, DeAngelo Lovingood, arrived at Erlanger hospital by personal vehicle.
According to investigators, Lovingood, 20, was stabbed in the chest that occurred at 1219 Wheeler Ave.
Police said the suspect in the case is possibly an ex-girlfriend of the victim, but no positive identification has been made late Wednesday.
Upon his arrival at the hospital, Mr. Lovingood was immediately taken into surgery.
Police said the investigation was in its early stages.
