Chattanooga police are investigating the discovery today of a human leg, with a boot still attached, floating in the Tennessee River near Ross’s Landing.
About 1 p.m., a jogger went to see what smelled “fishy” at the landing and noticed an object floating near a group of dead fish, according to a police release.
The floating object was a portion of a human leg inside a boot.
Police are working to see if any missing persons reports have been recently filed. It is not known if the remains are male, female nor is there any sign of race, they said.
