Organizers of the RiverRocks outdoor festival are working hard to prepare for the multi-sport event to be held Oct. 1-10 throughout the Chattanooga area.
RiverRocks will feature more than 40 events in several outdoor activities including hiking, kayaking, cycling, trail-running. In addition, several entertainment events will be held during the 10-day festival for spectators and participants.
“Things are going well,” RiverRocks co-founder Stromy McGauley said Wednesday. “The exciting thing is that this festival is owned by so many different local organizations, and they are all working hard to get ready for their events.”
RiverRocks will open Oct. 1 with the 3 Sisters Music Festival at Ross’s Landing, and events and activities are planned for each day throughout the area.
The event is being organized by Chattanooga Presents, and proceeds from the festival have been pledged to benifit several area conservation groups.
