GADSDEN, Ala. – Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin says a 35-year-old Fort Payne man is under arrest and charges are pending in connection with the kidnapping of two teenagers.
Entrekin says Billy Joe Greenleaf Jr. was arrested shortly after midnight Thursday.
The sheriff says an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old female were walking in a park Wednesday evening when they were approached by Greenleaf.
Entrekin says Greeleaf asked the man to help him with his vehicle, then pulled out a gun and forced the two into an SUV. He says the two jumped out at a stop sign, and the female grabbed Greenleaf’s gun.
The sheriff says Greenleaf was arrested later while driving a car, and he is charged with DUI and resisting arrest.
