Tips for watering when rain is inconsistent

It’s been a topsy-turvy season for gardeners. One week there are daily downpours; the next two weeks, it’s bone dry. The forecasts have gardeners working overtime to save their crops and flowers from succumbing to dry weather and extreme heat.
