Adam Fuller wants to see University of Tennessee at Chattanooga defensive end Josh Williams be the “relentless” player that he was in 2009.
“His freshman year, we couldn’t slow him down,” the Mocs’ defensive coordinator said. “In practice he was killing people.”
The 6-foot-2, 235-pound Williams is a highly motivated Moc as he enters his junior season. He remembers those “relentless” days well, just as he remembers the frustrations of playing most of last season with a shoulder injury that eventually required surgery.
“I was dealing with the shoulder injury the whole year and just trying to play through it for my team,” Williams said following Tuesday’s practice. “Now I’m 100 percent and ready to make an impact again.”
Williams made a name for himself as a true freshman in ’09. He started nine games, set a UTC freshman record with seven sacks and was named second-team All-Southern Conference.
