Amazon jobs trump taxes
I am really confused by the negative comments people have about Amazon as it relates to the tax collection issue.
All the hand-wringing about this issue is really bizarre. Amazon has been in business for many years and offers discounted prices on many of its items. If one is to buy a product and save significant dollars, the tax issue is secondary.
Where were all these editorials and hand-wringing prior to Amazon’s announcement of creating jobs by opening a shipping facility in Chattanooga? If I shop at Amazon, I don’t care where its shipped from.
Do people think that they can run down to Amazon and make purchases. Of course, you can’t. The point is, whether Amazon ships from Chattanooga or some other state is immaterial. It will continue to offer great prices and free shipping.
I would think that the jobs created here by Amazon would be important in this economy.
