Ruby Falls bolsters its seasonal presentation Deck the Falls with a Ruby Red Christmas starting this weekend.
From 5 to 9 every Friday and Saturday night in December (except Christmas Eve), Ruby Falls will offer nostalgic sights and sounds of the holidays, including falling snow, horse-drawn carriage rides and hot chocolate.
Visitors also can create crafts such as ornaments and gingerbread houses in the North Pole Workshop. Mrs. Claus will read a Christmas story, and live music will be performed inside the Castle and at the 145-foot underground waterfall.
New this year is the option of a free ride up Lookout Mountain on Chattanooga’s Double Decker Bus. Rides depart at 5, 6 and 7 p.m. in the loop in front of the Tennessee Aquarium, then leave Ruby Falls at the bottom of every hour until 9:30 p.m.
Ruby Falls is open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. daily, with guided tours departing every few minutes. The last ticket sold to tour the cave is at 8 p.m, with shops and carriage rides open until 9 p.m.
