Former Baylor School all-state linebacker Sidney Tarver has signed a contract to join the Jacksonville Jaguars’ eight-man practice squad. Shortly after graduating from Tennessee State University, where he was a two-year starter, the 6-foot-3, 240-pound Tarver signed a rookie free agent contract with the Cleveland Browns. He was one of the last players cut from that organization’s 53-man active roster. Since then the son of former Howard coach Alvin Tarver has continued living and working out in Chattanooga in hopes of getting another opportunity. He flew to Jacksonville late Monday evening.
