The Georgia Bulldogs will lose three starting offensive linemen from this year’s team, so they continue to address that area in recruiting.
Georgia received a commitment Wednesday from Mark Beard, a 6-foot-4, 290-pound projected tackle from Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College. Beard is the fourth offensive lineman to commit to Georgia’s 2012 signing class and the first from a junior-college player.
Heading Georgia’s commitments up front is 6-6, 292-pound John Theus of Jacksonville, who Rivals.com rates as the No. 1 prospect in Florida, the No. 2 tackle prospect nationally and the nation’s No. 11 overall prospect.
Center Ben Jones and tackles Cordy Glenn and Justin Anderson are seniors who will be playing their final game for Georgia on Jan. 2, when the Bulldogs face Michigan State in the Outback Bowl. The Bulldogs will return current sophomore guards Chris Burnette, Kenarious Gates and Dallas Lee, with freshman backup center David Andrews and freshman backup tackle Watts Dantzler from Dalton, Ga., expected to have cracks at next season’s starting lineup as well.
