Police Briefs: 2 face meth charges, delivery man robbed

2 face meth charges

Two men were arrested Friday after the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office discovered methamphetamine paraphernalia in a Soddy-Daisy home, according to court affidavits.

After learning of a possible meth lab at 8899 Carey Road, a detective with the sheriff’s office pulled over a truck that was leaving the residence. The driver, Glenn Skiles, 54, had a bag of ammonia nitrate in his shirt pocket, the report says. After securing Skiles, the detective searched the residence, owned by Clarence Gilliam, 38. The detective found shake bottles, needles, aluminum foil and several unknown liquids.

Gilliam and Skiles have been charged with conspiracy to manufacture meth and possession of powder meth. Skiles was indicted last year on 22 federal meth-related charges, according to court documents. Those cases are pending.
