Several North Georgia school systems are making up for lost days from the snow and ice by holding classes on holidays including Presidents Day and Good Friday.
But some parents criticized the decision to makeup classes on a religious holiday.
“My son will not be at school on Good Friday,” Lori Hensley, a Dalton parent, posted on the Whitfield County Schools Facebook page. “We are Christians and we worship and praise Jesus.”
Parents were talking about Dalton Public Schools’ decision Tuesday at the Shears of Dalton hair salon and several thought it was disrespectful to have makeup days on both holidays.
