Sequatchie County authorities are on the scene of an apparent homicide off East Valley Road, south of Dunlap, investigators said this afternoon.
Sheriff Ronnie Hitchcock said a man collecting aluminum cans today spotted what he believed to be a body floating in the Sequatchie River at Pickett’s Bridge and called authorities.
Sheriff Ronnie Hitchcock said “all signs point to a homicide.”
Hitchcock said around 4 p.m. EST that TBI agents were still headed to the scene and the body has not been removed from the water.
Dispatchers said the witness called in the discovery a little after 10 a.m. today.
