A fire that started in a doghouse damaged a Chattanooga home this morning.
Around 9 a.m., firefighters responded to the fire at 6109 Sail Pointe Lane, according to a news release. The fire was restricted to the outside deck and there was no damage to the homes interior, the release said.
Fire Investigator Andy Waters said the cause of the fire appears to be accidental, most likely from a warming light that had been placed in the doghouse beneath the back deck, the release stated.
The dog appears to be fine, investigators say.
The residents were not home at the time of the fire, the release said.
