Police seized a meth lab at a LaFayette, Ga., apartment complex and arrested a couple inside early Wednesday afternoon.
Steven Lamar Patterson, 33, and Ellie Melinda Sutton, 30, were arrested and charged with possession of manufacturing methamphetamine, police said.
Following complaints of an odor inside the LaFayette Garden Homes apartment, the Lookout Mountain Judicial Task Force obtained a search warrant and found meth and a one-pot meth lab, said Patrick Doyle, the task force’s deputy commander.
When the couple was arrested, a 4-year-old child was found and taken from the home, Doyle said. The couple also had two children at school. They were also turned over to the Department of Family and Children Services, he said.
